Benefits of eating onions:

 


    Onions are the second most eaten vegetable after potatoes. Eating onions has many health benefits. Young people are reluctant to use it because of the bad breath. But it should not be forgotten that onion is a good vegetable as well as a very good medicine. Onions are rich in calcine and riboflavin and vitamin B.

    Onions contain 11 percent carbohydrates. Onions contain N-propyl disulfide, which makes them more fragrant. This substance is formed by the reaction of enzymes on water soluble amino acids. According to a new study in modern medical science, regular consumption of onions can prevent gastric and ulcers.

    Studies at the University of Bern in Switzerland have shown that regular consumption reduces the risk of osteoporosis. Some other studies have suggested that regular consumption of onions reduces the risk of stomach and brain cancer.

    Onions also lower blood cholesterol, triglycerides and thromboxane. According to various studies, onions have antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. In Ayurveda, it is mentioned that onion is indigestible, that is, it does not digest food and is useful in diarrhea.

    It is considered to be anti-bacterial, anti-stress, analgesic, anti-diabetic, anti-stone and anti-inflammatory. Onions have been very useful since ancient times. Even the builders of the Egyptian pyramids ate onions. Onions have also been found in the form of pyramid mummies (human corpses). There is even a belief that when onion is rubbed on the skin, hair will grow.
